Toxic Substance Reduction
Ontario’s new Toxic Substance Reduction Act (TSRA) requires Ontario manufacturers to do toxic substance accounting on an annual basis. There is also a requirement for manufacturers to prepare plan(s) to reduce the usage or creation of toxic substances.
The list of toxic substances is the same NPRI list that Environment Canada prepares and updates on an annual basis. Toxics accounting and planning are reportable online via the OWNERS website.
Toxic substance reduction plans require certification by a licensed Toxic Substance Reduction Planner (TSRP). As a licensed planner, GTA Environmental can assist manufacturers with both accounting and planning.
